..Why Is the Eye Pink in Pink Eye?

Pink eye results from inflammation of the clear membrane covering the white part of the eye (sclera) and interior lining of the eyelids.

Although the

conjunctiva is transparent, it contains most of the blood vessels on the eye's surface. So anything that triggers eye inflammation will cause these conjunctival blood vessels to dilate. This contributes to the eye's pink or reddish appearance, particularly evident against the backdrop of the white sclera.

..Pink Eye Causes, Signs and Symptoms:

The way your eyes feel and look will provide some clues about the type of pink eye you have. Besides causing a pink eye, conjunctivitis also can make your eye hurt or itch.

For more common types of pink eye, here are some of the symptoms:

***Allergic conjunctivitis causes itching, redness and excessive tearing in both eyes. The nose also may be stuffy, itchy and runny.

***Bacterial conjunctivitis often spreads to both eyes and causes a heavy discharge, sometimes greenish. Crusting may appear on eyelids.

***Viral conjunctivitis usually affects only one eye, which has excessive watering and a light discharge. Crusting on eyelids sometimes occurs.

How to see Magic eye 3D stereograms? (another way to see the magic eye)

Bring the Magic Eye 3D Stereogram image really close to your eyes (until you touch it with your nose). At this distance your eyes cannot focus on the image and they look somewhere behind the image.

Now, slowly push the image away from you, while trying to keep the eyes off focus. At some point you will see the hidden image.

Another method is to take an object and put it behind the image (about half of meter behind it). Now, focus on the object behind the image while keeping the eyes looking at the image.

Do you remember how is the feeling when you are drunk? Your eyes don't look at the object arround you, but rather through them.

Well, this is actualy what we are trying to achive (look through the object, not get drunk, loll). If you can manage to get your eyes off focus, at some point you will be able to see the hidden image.

Pink eye: is otherwise called (conjunctivitis)" which is condition that causes inflammation to the conjunctiva".

(Conjunctiva) is a clear membrane which covers the inner surface of the eyelids and the outer surface of the eye.

(Conjunctivitis) leads to red color, itching, pain and fluid discharge from the eye.


Home Remedies for Pink Eye:

1. Wash your eyes with clean water and press the eyelids with warm cloth or cotton balls. You can also use warm milk for compressing your eye. This will help you to soothe the itching.

2. While washing your eyes you can add a little honey to the water and then wash the eyes with that honey and water mix. The antibacterial property of the honey will help you to recover fast. You can also use boric acid for washing the eyes and even for a warm compress.

3. Keep cool tea bags over your eyes and the tannin present in the tea bags will help you to reduce the inflammation and to soothe the itching of the eye. For making cool tea bags first you have to boil the tea bags and the keep it aside for cooling. Chamomile tea bags are found to be the ideal ones for this purpose as chamomile is a commonly used eye tonic. Instead of tea bags you can also use eye cups filled with luke warm stronger tea.

4. Jasmine flowers immersed in distilled water for over night can be used as eye drops for treating pink eye.

5. Calendula is also found to be a good remedy for pink eye. Calendula has good antiseptic property and this will help you to get rid of the inflammation and itching. It can be used as an eye wash or for giving compression to the eyes.

6. Boil some water and add salt to it and allow it to cool. Dip cotton balls in this water and keep it over your eyes. This will help you to ward off the infection.

7. Soak a clean and soft towel in a juice of aloe vera and place it over your eyes or you can use the juice as eyewash.

8. Make eyewash with one teaspoon of baking soda and two cups of water and wash your eyes frequently with this water.

9. You can make use of the astringent property of the potato for treating the pink eye. Grate a piece of potato and keep over the eyes for 15 minutes and reduce your inflammation
